In Carlisle’s Historic Downtown area, you’ll find many interesting shops, antique stores, and an array of excellent dining options, many of which have been featured in regional magazines and, since we are the closest B&B to the city center, are a short walk from the Inn.

We are located in Carlisle’s Downtown Historic District, a five-minute walk from Dickinson College and from Dickinson School of Law, and a mile from the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks. We are also within an easy day trip distance of many other South Central Pennsylvania Colleges, in particular Gettysburg College (35 minutes) and Franklin & Marshall (60 minutes).
Our location in Carlisle makes us the ideal stopping place for the more discerning traveler, both business and leisure, and our room amenities provide everything you may need for a relaxing respite from your travels. For those who love history, Carlisle was a frontier town and has been involved in many significant events in American history, from the French and Indian Wars, through the Revolutionary War, the Whiskey Rebellion, the War of 1812, the Indian Wars, the Civil War, the Carlisle Industrial Indian School (attended by Jim Thorpe), and all of this is celebrated at the Army Heritage and Education Center and the Army Heritage Trail.
If your favorite leisure activities tend towards the outdoors, then we are just a few minutes from the Letort Spring Run, featured as one of the world’s “50 Places to Fly Fish Before You Die”. We are just a half-hour from Roundtop Mountain Resort where you can ski and snowboard in the winter months, and Zip-line and Ogo Ball in the summer. And of course there are many great cycling trails and routes all around us. Circled by Pennsylvania State Parks, we are just 3 miles from the Appalachian Trail and just 18 miles from the Appalachian Trail Museum at the midpoint of the Trail.
