Whenever we have reason to celebrate, our first thoughts are for the many great guests who have trusted us to help make their visit to Carlisle successful.

It is because of you that we have been able to become a part of Select Registry, and to be voted "Best of Carlisle" every year since we opened.

We now have another reason to celebrate…

Eight Years!
And 8,000 reservations - or at least there will be sometime in April. We hosted our very first guest here at the Carlisle House on April 6, 2004, and sometime soon we will receive our 8,000th reservation.
We are celebrating by giving away the first two nights to the lucky person who makes reservation number 8,000. This can be a special event weekend, a College Visit, even a business trip - whatever the reason, number eight thousand will have two nights at no charge! Watch our Facebook Page for the announcement. As of this writing, there are just 123 reservations to go!

Vacation of a Lifetime!
Select Registry has announced that one lucky registrant this year will be chosen to receive a "Vacation of a Lifetime". The fortunate winner will have a whole year to stay a completely free night at each of the almost 350 Select Registry Inns! We are really looking forward to hosting the winner here in Carlisle, PA.
And remember, even if you don't win the big prize, who doesn’t want to earn $100 toward a stay at the Carlisle House or any other beautiful Select Registry inn? Sign up through the Select Registry Facebook Page and get your free QUILL, then just stay 11 nights in any combination of Select Registry properties to earn your Reward Certificate!!

Why Two Shoes?
If you've been following us on Twitter, Facebook, or our Blog, or even if you've been surfing our website, you may have seen our recent video and noticed the credits "A Carlisle House Two Shoes Production".
Anna Woods

When we were searching for a suitable name for our Production Company (it isn't really a company, just Alan and his iMac!) we remembered that when we were renovating the bathroom in Molly's Garden Room we found half a pair of shoes in the ceiling.
When we say "half a pair" we don't mean one shoe, we mean the front halves of two shoes - hence the name. Apparently this was done for good luck back in the 1800's. We may even find the back half somewhere, who knows! More about the bathroom upgrade next month.

Andalusia Logo
Andalusia is the newest restaurant in Carlisle!
Scheduled to open in early to mid-April, Andalusia expands the culinary range of its predecessor, Argana, on North Hanover Street, and continues the ethnic trend started by Trattoria Piatto and Cafe Bruges with a menu of Spanish and Moroccan Tapas and entrees native to both countries.
Now, as you know one of your innkeepers (me) is English, and I would like to mention that between Spain and Morocco there is a small Rock called Gibraltar which has been British since 1713. As Andalusia will have a full bar, I am hoping that the little bit of Britishness translates into Bombay Sapphire Gin. We shall see!
What we don't need to hope for is the food which we can be certain will be authentic and tasty. We can't wait to try the Pan con Tomate - grilled bread rubbed with tomato, garlic & olive oil, optionally with Serrano Ham, Spanish Anchoveies, or Manchego Cheese. Awesomely Yummy! Or as they say in Spain, "impresionantemente delicioso"!
